- The main Hospital Building (I.P.Block) comprises of 500 beds with Clinical Departments namely Pediatrics, Pediatrics Surgery, Gynecology & Obstetrics and non Clinical departments of Radiology, Pathology, Microbiology and Biochemistry. The Hospital Building also consists super specialty departments namely Neonatology, Cardiology, Neurology & Pediatric surgery with administration and OT complex of 7 operation theaters , 4 for Pediatric surgery,2 for Gynecology & Obstetrics & 1 for Family planning.
- The Out Patient Block is of G+ 1 upper floor for pediatrics, Gynic & Obstetrics along with School for mentally retarded children.
- The Infosis building is of G+3 upper floors for Pediatric emergency, Intensive care and wards.
- In addition to above there are buildings for residences of RMO & Staff along with Dhobi Ghat behind the main hospital I.P Block .
All the above mentioned buildings except Infosis building are very old and are not in a good condition and are not possible to make any extensions.
This is the only one hospital available for children in Govt. of Andhra Pradesh More than 50% of the population comprises of children who are the future resources for the country. The infrastructure facilities available in the present hospital are inadequate and not able to provide the required services for the increased number of patients.
Keeping in view the future needs and to meet the increased demand, the administration came out with the proposal for the modernization and expansion of the institute for center of excellence in the country by improving quality care with advanced equipment and advocating modern scientific modalities of treatment.
