Progress Report
INFRASTRUCTURE :
1. Establishment of 6 bedded level III NICU in the main building.
2. Modern advanced PICU with 12 bedded unit extended with all the infrastructure in infosys block.
3. Establishment and functioning of Arogyasri office in a corporate style in the premises of Niloufer Hospital.
- Arogyasri ward with 20 beds in corporate style has been started in unit I with the help of donors. Similar Arogyasri units are planned in all the units within 3 months
- Disney land agreed to paint all the Arogyasri wards with pleasant colors and pictures at free of cost.
4. Hospital name in display board in three languages (Telugu, English & Urdu) was inaugurated by Sri. Virasat Rasool Khan, MLA on hospital day celebration i.e. on 15th August 2009.
5. Garden landscaping and fountain is laid which is sponsored by SBH Gunfoundry.
6. Operation of mechanized laundry: Installation of the machine and the electric cable has been done & waiting for the inauguration.
7. Doctor’s lounge is constructed with a capacity of 50 occupants.
8. Readjustment of OPD & Hostel for postgraduates and handing over the OP building to APHMHIDC for Rajeev Intensive care block was done effectively. Rajeev Intensive care block with 450 bedded by NRHM funds is under construction.
9. ART building funded by NACO with a budget of 63 lakhs is under construction and the foundation laid for the centre of excellence in India.

Progress
  • The Progress made in the past months that is till 31-03-2010 is evaluated under the following:
  • The main focus is to quickly develop infrastructure in view of the demolition of outpatient block and to accommodate heavy in flow of patients.
  • The Hospital is able to make fast strides, thanks to the involvement of chairman and member of HDS with NHRM, NACO, other NGOs and philanthropists. Since periodic review of the activities of the hospital can give insight into the development as well as the needs of the hospital, the administration reviewed the development during the last 12 months.
Infrastructure Development :
  • Out patient building (Semi Permanent Structure) was Constructed inaugurated by Sri. J. Satyanarayana, Principal Secretary HM &FM , Govt. of A.P. Hyd on 30-01-2010.
  • Mechanized laundry inaugurated by Sri. J. Satyanarayana, Principal Secretaly HM & FM, Govt. of A.E, Hyderabad on 30-01-2010 and is under operation.
  • Garden & landscaping done in front of I.P building.
  • Rajeev Intensive care block, 2 cellar digging work completed, retaining wall constructed, footings under process.
  • A.R.T building, funded by NACO with a budget of 63 Lakhs is under construction and the foundation laid for the centre of excellence. A.R.T building two roof levels construction completed & work is under progress.
  • Existing post graduates accommodated in IPP building, m minor repair works completed.

Equipments :
  • Double surface phototherapy units 3 in number & 100 tube lights for o1d phototherapy units were donated by M/s. FD Khan, Abids for treating jaundiced babies.
  • MRI Machine sanctioned to Niloufer Hospital worth of Rs. 6 crores.
  • Laser scalpel sanctioned with a budget of 25 Lakhs.
  • Portable X ray unit sanctioned.
  • HDS chairman has cleared the proposal for replacement of all the instruments in the theaters which have been utilized for more than 10 years and the implementation is under process.
  • The new instruments for pediatric surgery were procured, replacing the 10 year old instruments and put into utilization by the surgery department.
  • Indent & Requirements for all the departments are called for procurement of equipment.
Systems & Procedures :
  • Hospital day celebration was held on 15th August 2009 after a gap of 20 years to integrate all the functionaries of hospital to work with team spirit and dedication. On this occasion a souvenir was released by the chief guest Sri. P. Satyanarayana Garu, Hon'ble Minister for Aarogyasri, 108, 104 and Insurance services.
  • Niloufer Hospital Website was inaugurated by Sri. J. Satyanarayana, Principal Secretary MH & FW Govt. of A.P on 15th August2009.
  • Formation of Niloufer Alumni Association was L.M Subramanyam, HDS Chairman & Principal Secretary, MH & FW Govt. of AP on 15th August2009.
  • Well organized Departmental Annual Physical verification done in this year after a gap of 6 years.
  • Regular monthly HDS Meetings were conducted every month from March 2009 and clearance of various proposals and decision regarding establishment of Rajiv Intensive Care Unit were done.
  • A new system has been introduced and put into operation for the first time where the night duty doctors, pediatricians, surgeons, obstetricians, Anesthetists & RMO will meet the Superintendent & RMO I in the morning at 9.00 AM to discuss the duty problems for immediate remedial measures.
  • Various committees have been formed in Niloufer Hospital with the faculty, administration and other staff & students in order to decentralize the work, achieve cooperation and sense of responsibility among the members.
  • Employees grievances redressal system (Employees Durbar) has been introduced where in the aggrieved employees meet the Superintendent & administrative staff every 2nd Wednesday of the month for immediate remedial action.
  • Regular Hospital grand rounds are conducted by Superintendent on every Wednesday between 9.30 am - 12 noon along with AO, RMOs, Nursing Superintendent, Health Inspector, Electrician, plumber, security & sanitation supervisors, in order to know the deficiencies, maintenance problems and order for correction.
  • Bio Medical Engineer is appointed for first time in the Government Hospitals under Govt of AP to take care of equipment & put the system in working condition.
  • Regular faculty meetings are being conducted.
  • Bio Medical Wastage work shop conducted for all the faculty of Niloufer Hospital to develop the segregation of bio medical wastage.
  • Life Skills development Training programme conducted for Doctors & Nurses to improve motivation and positive attitude and development of social skills.
  • Log Books for postgraduates introduced and it is under implementation.
  • Unit wise implementation of duties & Aarogyasri work introduced in the department of pediatrics.
Academic Research :
  • Regular teaching programme for the undergraduates and postgraduates in progress.
  • Log Books for the postgraduate are introduced for the first time, for day to day monitoring of their curriculum with accountability and responsibility.
  • Regular mortality meetings, thesis meeting and faculty meetings are being conducted every month.
  • Dissertation work is revised every month.
  • Dr. P. Sudershan Reddy was the chairman of the organizing committee of national conference of Indian Academy of Pediatrics, Pedicon 2010 at Hyderabad. 6000 Pediatricians from all over the World deliberated on Child Health Issues and its implementation. Dr. Tilak Chandrapal, Prof of pediatrics was the vice Chairperson of Reception committee & Dr. Suresh Kumar, Prof of Pediatrics was the organizing secretary.
  • Dr. Karuna P.G. From Niloufer Hospital was awarded best paper at Pedicon 2010.

Short Term :
    Air Conditioning of :
  • a) Theatres, b) E.S.R., c) PICU, d) Office, e) DMO Rooms (DONE)
  • Repair of drainage in family planning block. (DONE)
  • Construction of security out post with rest rom for special protection force & AP Police, By Sri SP Reddy, Chairman & Managing Director, M/s. Terminus, Suuance, GA – USA (Done).
  • Renovation of Administrative block by Sri. Ramanjaneyulu, Director of Srichakra Cements (DONE).
Medium Term :
  • Installation of LAN & CCTV (Under Process)
  • Construction of Sanitation complex, Rasoi Ghar for patient attendants. (Proposals Accepted)
  • Construction of Auditorium from MP Funds (Under Process).
Long Term :
  • Construction of Postgraduate hostel building.
  • Construction of Administrators quarters.
  • Construction of Nurses quarters
  • Construction of speciality blocks
(For the above 4 long term plans MASTER PLAN HAS BEEN SUBMITTED TO GOVERNMENT).
