The investigations done in the Bio-Chemistry Lab is one of the important routes for physicians to confirm the diagnosis of the patient's disease. The Department of bio-chemistry in the Niloufer Hospital has been serving efficiently since more than five decades. Here is the list of persons who have dedicated their contribution for framing the successful run of the laboratory. Dr. Mohan Rao (Bio-Chemist), Dr. Madhav Reddy (Bio-Chemist), Dr. Ramanjaneyulu (Bio-Chemist), Dr. Ratna Kumar (Associate Professor). Now in service of the laboratory is Mr. K. Sudhakar (Bio-Chemist) and Dr. A. Dhanalkshmi (Asst. Prof.)
Apart from routine Bio-chemical investigations such as Blood-Sugar, LFT, RFT, CSF-Analysis, Calcium Phosphorus Amylase Urine Proteins/ueatinim, the lab does some specialized tests such as Haemoglobin. Electrophoresis, ADA, Osmotic fragility and Urine Metabolic Profile. The Lab also participates every month in External Quality Assessment scheme from Christian Medical College, Vellore since 2002 for checking the accuracy of the results of the lab. The credit of introduction of the external Quality Control and specialized tests goes to Dr. G. L. Somayajulu, a pioneer Biochemist.
With the introduction of Infosys building and centralized out-patient in the Niloufer Hospital the statistics of investigations in the lab has increased at an average of 4500 to 5000 tests per month. If the lab is granted, latest and modern analysers the service may be prompt and better because for our motto is "Work is Worship".
